Emergency payments: I cannot make a payment on my payment terminal

Alternative ways to pay

Whatever the problem is when you cannot make a payment the regular way, these are alternative options to make a payment.

Option 1: Make a standalone payment (via 4G)

Whenever you have an issue with your network or when your PMS is not pushing a payment to your terminal, you can start a 'standalone payment'.

Making a standalone payment:

  • Go to Transactions > New payment
  • Enter the amount and let your guest pay
  • Now ensure to book the payment in your PMS manually


If a standalone payment is not working, you might have an issue in your (wifi) network. In that case you will have to turn off wifi to make a payment over 4G.


Turning off wifi:

  • Go to Settings > Network
  • Enter your passcode
  • Select wifi and turn off wifi

On Verifone terminals, you need to press "9" and "Green" to access Settings.

 

If a PMS or POS is connected
Turning off wifi disconnects your terminal from your PMS or POS. You will have to post the payment manually. Our team can help you restoring the connection with you, the next business day.

 

Option 2: Send a payment link

If you are still unable to make a payment through the payment terminal, you can send guests a payment link via OPS.

In the unlikely event that all payment terminals are unable to connect to Adyen's servers, please visit status.adyen.com to verify if there is a service outage. If this is the case, we recommend waiting for the service to be restored, as Smarthotel does not have control over this situation.
