Understanding Website Stats in the Smarthotel Editor

Want to know how your website is performing — without logging into Google Analytics? The Smarthotel Editor gives you built-in access to useful stats and visitor data directly from your dashboard.

This article explains:

  • What stats are available inside the Smarthotel Editor

  • Where to find them

  • What they mean for your hotel

  • Optional extras you can activate

Let’s take a look!

Where to find your website statistics

  1. Log in at https://editor.smarthotel.nl

  2. In the left panel, click on “Stats”

  3. You’ll now see an overview of key visitor data for your website

Stats are available for all websites built with the Smarthotel Editor (powered by Duda). You don’t need to set up Google Analytics to access these.

What can you see in the Stats dashboard?

Here are the most important data points shown by default:

1. Visits

The number of times your website was viewed.
Why it matters: This gives you a quick sense of how much traffic you're getting.

2. Unique Visitors

How many individual people visited your site (not just repeated visits).
Why it matters: A good indicator of your real reach.

3. Device Breakdown

See how many people use desktop, mobile, or tablet.
Why it matters: If most users are on mobile, your site must be mobile-friendly.

4. Top Pages

Which pages were visited the most.
Why it matters: This helps you understand what content is popular (e.g. rooms, gallery, contact page).

5. Traffic Sources

Where your visitors came from — search engines, social media, referrals, direct visits.
Why it matters: Helps you identify which channels are working and where to improve.

Optional: Enable Event Tracking for deeper insights

Want to track how many people:

  • Click the booking button?

  • Click to call the hotel?

  • Fill in the contact form?

  • View your location on Google Maps?

These are all possible by enabling Event Tracking.

Good to know: If Smarthotel built your website, we can enable this for you. Just email support@smarthotel.nl and ask us to activate event tracking for your site.

Optional: Add a booking funnel (via Google Analytics or Tag Manager)

Want more advanced stats like:

  • How many users click from your homepage to the booking engine?

  • Where do guests drop off in the booking process?

These insights require Google Analytics 4 and possibly Google Tag Manager.

Tips for making the most of your stats

✔ Check your Stats tab at least once a month
✔ Look for traffic drops or spikes and ask yourself what may have caused them
✔ Review the most visited pages — highlight them in your navigation or homepage
✔ If mobile traffic is >60%, prioritize mobile layout and speed
✔ Use data to decide: add a new language, change CTA buttons, or improve slow pages

Summary

The Stats tab in the Smarthotel Editor is a great starting point for understanding your website performance — no setup required. For deeper insights, event tracking and GA4 can be added easily.
