Changing or adding FAQ in your website

A clear and well-structured FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section can save time for your guests — and for your reception team. It helps answer common questions about check-in times, parking, breakfast, cancellation policies, and more.

  • Edit or update existing questions and answers

Option 1: Add a New FAQ Section (Recommended Method)

The easiest way to create an FAQ is to use the Accordion widget. This collapsible layout keeps your page clean and organized.

Step-by-step:

  1. Log in to your website at https://editor.smarthotel.nl

  2. Go to the page where you want to add the FAQ

  3. Hover over the page and click “+” (Add Section)

  4. In the left panel, search for "Accordion"

  5. Choose a layout and click “Add”

  6. Click on each question to edit the text

  7. Add your answers in the space provided below each question

  8. Click Done, then Publish

Tip: Use short and clear questions, like:

  • What time is check-in?

  • Is parking available?

  • Can I cancel my booking for free?


Option 2: Update an Existing FAQ Section

If your site already has an FAQ section, here’s how to make changes:

  1. In the editor, go to the page with the FAQ

  2. Click directly on the FAQ text or Accordion widget

  3. In the left panel, you’ll see the list of existing questions

  4. Click on a question to edit it

  5. Use “+ Add Item” to add new Q&As

  6. To delete a question, click the trash can icon next to it

  7. Click Done, then Publish your changes


Best Practices for Hotel FAQ Pages

  • Answer real questions you get from guests (phone/email)
  • Group questions by theme if you have many (e.g. Booking, Arrival, Facilities)
  • Keep answers short, clear and to the point
  • Don’t repeat policies — link to your Terms & Conditions page if needed
  • Update regularly, especially if services or procedures change

SEO Tip: Add structured headings

To improve visibility in Google, format your questions as H3 headings and keep the answers in regular paragraph style. If you're using the Accordion widget, this is already taken care of.


Can I add different FAQs on different pages?

Yes! You can have unique FAQ sections per page. For example:

  • Add a short FAQ on your homepage (max. 3 questions)

  • A full FAQ section on your "Practical Info" or "About" page

  • A booking-related FAQ on your “Rooms” or “Packages” pages
